HOGMANAY TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION!

  • CULROSS HOGMANY TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION

The first ever Culross Hogmany Torchlight Procession will take place in Culross on Saturday, December 31, 2011. This is a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors alike to see out the Old Year and welcome in 2012. Torches (safe) may be purchased at the Post Office or Red Lion - £3 each or 2 for £5.

Timings/programme is as follows:

Gather Abbey Manse Gardens 11pm

Home-made Masks Judged -  join in the fun with a home made  mask

Depart Abbey 11.20pm

Depart The Cross 11.30pm

Arrive Townhouse 11.50pm & announce winners of decorated mask competition

12.00 Piping in 2012 & Auld Lang Syne. After the Bells the procession will cross to The Pier for the lighting of a Beacon.

This has all the ingredients  of a superb community event and provides a unique opportunity to celebrate Hogmany 2011.
