Great weekend as festival rocks Abbey Gardens
8 JuneHundreds of visitors flocked to Culross over the weekend, as the 2009 Culross Festival provided a packed three days of top musical entertainment.
The festival kicked off in great style with a sold-out show by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers on friday night - and even though the rain vsited a couple of times, but everyone had come prepared for our Scottish weather!
Charles' (Lord Bruce) garden was the perfect place for the Chillis to play in this 'year of Homecoming'.
Saturday's concert by Big Vern and the Shootahs rocked the old gardens, with the crowd enjoying plenty of room for dancing!
And the festival was rounded off on Sunday with the open-air opera 'Marriage of Figaro' in the Abbey Gardens
Festival committee member Ann Macdonald said: "Visitors are always stunned by the unique setting of Abbey House and there were pipes, soul music, picnics and opera. Some groups of people were at our three events! Glorious sunshine greeted opera and it was the best translation yet."
Culross Festival committee would like to thank Scottish Power, who sponsored the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, and Fife Council for their support over this weekend of music.
