6/1/2010Culross Primary hit by bad weather
The heavy snow falls and icy roads in the area have forced Culross Primary School to close.
To find out if a school remains closed you can call the Fife Council helpline on 08451 55 11 99. If you have already signed up to receive closure messages by text or email you will still receive these - you can also listen in to Kingdom FM for regular updates on school and facility closures.
Have you been affected by the bad weather, or by the school closing? Have your say and post your comments on s1culross

What this bad weather has proven that the community spirit in culross of old is gone! For weeks paths and pavements lay thick with ice and no attempt was made to clear them. Where were all the community groups?
Was it Duncan Wood that said in the newsletter if someone ask you what the cdt then you tell them Blah Blah Blah!
Well Duncan you and the rest of your crowd had a great opportunity to do something that the villagers would have been proud of.
Sadly, no attempt was made to clear a path to the post office where old people could walk carefully!
So the next time someone mentions the community spirit in the village just pause for a moment and think where were all the do-gooders when the village needed them!!
Ps.I cleaned two old people paths and called on a couple to see if they needed anything from the shop.... So i did my bit ,Did you?
- Don't know about being hit by bad weather. But the school not taking part in this year's music festival is a let down. I am led to believe this is being put down to "time restraints" they have had a year to prepare. So that does not wash, Then we are told that football tops can't be worn to either football or p.e. Your son dreams of playing football and wearing the strip of his team at football practice is a big thin. [Come on ye pars] this smacks of political correctness gone mad. But more importantly is something going wrong at the school?
- I don't know whereabouts in Culross you live jon, but certainly in the heart of Culross there is plenty of grit residue on the roads and paths. As the grit wagon was unable to access wee/back/mid causeway and beyond until well into the second week of the new year it must have been placed there by residents. It certainly was up tan house brae as a collective effort by residents shovelled the stuff up and down following an accident an the top of the hill. Which incidently was dealt with by locals. Plenty of folk were also out the morning of the first snowfall at the Mercat Cross clearing the path to the doorways of the older residents You cannot qualify your comments about the lack of community spirit simply because their wasn't a clear path to the post office.
