26/1/2010Culross-Kincardine road to close for resurfacing

The Culross - Kincardine road will be closed for four weeks from Monday 1st February

Resurfacing work will shortly get under way on the Culross to Kincardine road - with delays ahead for drivers using the route.

Starting on Monday 1st February, Fife Council's Transportation Services are carrying out the carriageway resurfacing scheme on the C5 Culross to Kincardine road, with works expected to last up to four weeks.

The work will involve the complete renewal of the carriageway surface - and the road will have to be completely closed while the work is carried out.

Traffic using the road will be redirected via the A985(T), C5, B9037 and Sharps' Brae. Bus passengers are advised to check with the bus company prior to travelling, as a restricted service will be in operation. A temporary timetable will be displayed on bus stops in the area and on the Fifedirect website.

All school transport will continue to serve Culross, but will turn at the Culross West car park and continue via Valleyfield to its onward destination. Access for the emergency services and residents will be maintained at all times.
