Oh You Cheeky Monkey says
The above-named festival has applied to the community council for £1500 and the cdt has also applied for £1838 for the restoration of the pier.
Now i have nothing against anyone trying to sort the pier. However the following needs to be asked first! Does the pier committee have books and if not why not? So no money whatsoever should be handed over until books are provided and regular accounts provided. The same applies to the festival committee. No money whatsoever should be handed over until yearly accounts are available for the villagers to see.
Also the accounts of the cdt should be available for the villagers to see. Now i am not for one moment saying anything untoward is going on.
But if the community council is handing these considerable amounts of money to these groups then these groups need to be transparent!
