Community officers meet the people in Culross
5 Feb 2010Culross' community police officers will be holding regular evening meetings nto next year, open to all members of the public for two-way communications so that the police can learn what concerns local people most in order to set priorities and then tell everyone what they are doing about them.
PCs Alan Davidson and Alan Cotterill will be at the Culross Youth Club, Balgownie West, on the first Monday of every month at 7pm - the next meeting is on Monday 1st March.
The officers hope that you will consider attending one of the meetings to help keep crime statistics going on a downward trend! If we want the police to help us, we must tell them what concerns us and report, anonymously if wished, possible offences, even those of a 'minor' but offensive or repetitive nature.
One of the questions that often comes up is exactly how to contact the police locally. Here are some useful numbers:
Community Officers Non-urgent: Use (01592) 251187. This has an answerphone and should only be used for non-urgent, community matters as there will be periods of up to 24 hours when messages are not picked up.
Serious Matters: Phone the "Force Contact Centre" on the single non-emergency number 0845 600 5702.
Emergencies: Continue to use the 999 system, if appropriate.
Group Email Address:Reports, suggestions etc can be sent to southwestfifecommunityteam@fife.pnn.police.uk
Please remember that you can contact the police anonymously such that your name or address will not be revealed to anyone you report and, of course, the police will not call in at your address if you tell them not to. They will not be offended!
You can find out more about the community officers here on the Fife police website.
