Call for nominations to Culross Community Council

  • Could you be a member of Culross Community Council? Get a nomination form from a member and get involved in the community

There may be lots of talk of ballots in the news, but there is also another important vote coming up, with an election for new members of Culross Community Council.

If you would like to get involved in making Culross a better place to live then why not put your name forward. If you give your name to any member of the Community Council then they will make sure that you receive an application form.

Another issue which was discussed at the last meeting of Culross Community Council was the Culross Conservation Area appraisal, which looks at a wide range of issues affecting the village, and how they will be tackled in the future.

You can download the draft Culross Conservation Area Appraisal and Management plan from the Fife Council website here.

What do you think of the draft plan and the proposals for the future of our town? Post your comments and have your say here on s1culross

Well folks, What are you all waiting. Why not give up one night a month and speak about things that have no real influence on the village. This council have given all real decision making to the culross development trust. People are beginning to realise that things in this village stink and are rotten to the core. So joining a cc that has no power whatsoever is a waste of a night!

Oh You Cheeky Monkey says

Well jon, At long last and its only a small step but they are starting to address some of your concerns. Seemingly they are going to mend the flag pole and renew the flags and a few other things that need sorted as soon as i know i will keep you posted. Dont want to bring you back down again but have you noticed themess that has appeared at the back of munnochs. Yet they think they are serving the village.

Like to be loud says

"that need sorting, or that need to be sorted"-at least write properly if you are going to criticise.

jon rodger says

If the best you can do is criticise the grammer, Then all i can say is you have got your head so far up your backside you have answered my problems ! So why dont you go away and try and get the problems i have highlighted sorted or do you just like to be loud!

Like to be loud says

I wasn't criticising the grammar, I was correcting it, as I have your poor spelling. Isn't this what the pair of you are bellyaching about, correcting things? If both of you were a little better educated you wouldn't have such arrogant attitudes towards others.

jon rodger says

So bad spelling and grammer makes me arrogant and you then question my education ! Doh! Brilliant just brilliant!

Anyway,Could you explain what is arrogant about wanting, Decent and readable notice boards, repaired flagpoles, Clean streets, Clean and decent toilets, The mess at the back of Sandhaven sorted and the list goes on and on and on!

All i can say is that i am away to have a cup of tea in my 400,000 + house {mortgage free] and then have a drive in my new car , Not bad for a wee uneducated guy!

You on the other hand will be trying to correct my grammar and spellningg and ignoring the things that really matter!

Like to be loud says

There is nothing arrogant about what you want, the arrogance comes from your attitude to what you want and how you expect others to do it for you. The fact that you feel the need to boast about the value of your possessions is typical of intellectually inferior people who think money makes up for lack of class and breeding. Hope you enjoyed your cup of tea. Earl Grey no doubt?

jon rodger says

Deflect and deny! Your name says it all really. LIke to be loud!!

Answer my questions that i have asked or are you going to be like the rest of your posts rant and rave and offer no solutions.

I am not boasting about my possessions just letting you know that although i cant spell and my grammar is bad that if you work hard you can achieve anything!

But i know that i am so far inside your head now that you are resorting to personal attacks Yet you talk of no class!!

Away and tidy the garden and convince yourself that everything in the village is fine! I leave you this question> When was the last time we won the best village award? I rest my case!

Like to be loud says

You seem to have forgotton that it was your attack on the community council and CDT that started this discussion in the first place. You are still missing the point. You may have worked hard so that you can buy an average priced house in Culross and be one of many residents who own a nice shiny new car, but that is just it. It's all for yourself, not others.

I do not recall professing anywhere that I have any solutions to the things which need remedying in the village, but unlike you I am not being disrespectful towards people who are at least trying. I was highlighting what a pig ignorant pair you two are, on every level, to others in the village. You lack, grace, appreciation and respect for anything. By the same token, you do not command any either.

I cannot understand why you continue to live in a place that you despise so much. There is much more to Culross than a best kept village award, if only you could see that the glass is half full, not half empty.

jon rodger says

Like to be loud, I am glad to see your not letting your education get in the way of your ignorance. You accuse me of lacking grace, apprecation and respect. But to get respect you must earn it first ! Also why must i show grace and appreciation to people who have not improved the village one iota in thirty years and are responsible for the eyesore it has become! I also do not recall professing anywhere that i despise the village. However, I do despair when i see the state of this once beautiful village .From the east car park to the west car park the village is tawdry and in need of a make over. [YET YOU THINK THE GLASS IS HALF FULL} Its really sad that people who claim to have the best interest of the village are the ones who have allowed to get into a state.! I wonder what the people who used to run this village people like harry daly etc would make of this village if they seen it now! Yet you ask me to show the community council and the discredited trust respect. All i can say is,Your verbosity is exceeded only by your ignorance .

well,well, well says

Why is the phone box being used to promote events? All we need now are some ladies of the night to leave there calling cards.

jon rodger says

The community garden is looking beautiful and that is all that matters. Yet they think they serve the village well!

Dreamer says

The village is "tawdry" and in need of a makeover?  It  is an "eyesore"? Huh?

The village is lovely. It is a living, changing entity and all the more charming for being so.

You must be blind, deluded or someone with an axe to grind.
