Call for Culross groups to grab local grant cash
20 FebruaryLocal people and groups in Culross are being invited to get involved in ‘UP FOR GRABS’, an exciting new project where locals in the West Fife Villages can decide how to spend £10,000 in their own communities.
A series of meetings is taking place around the villages as part of the UP FOR GRABS scheme. Fife Council Locality Support team have been out and about meeting local people to tell them about the project and encourage them to get involved. The theme is Community Safety and local groups are being invited to apply for up to £1000. So far the project has been a bit hit with local communities.
“We’re looking to support as many local groups as possible, any one who wants to apply should get in touch as there’s still time to apply,” said Lynn Hoey from Fife Council. She added, “They will be given the opportunity to get involved and decide what projects should be funded.”
John Crane, of the West Fife Villages Community Council Forum, said “I have been involved in the Fife Council Working Group and this is good news for small groups looking to access funding and for us to decide which projects we want to support.”
Fife Council Locality Support team are happy to support local groups to take part and would urge local people to come forward with their ideas and help make a difference to their group or community.
The Team are waiting to hear from local people. If you would like an application pack or further information, please get in touch with: Lynn Hoey, Locality Manager, Civic Centre, Inverkeithing - call 08451 555555 ext 440646 - or pick up an application form from you local community centre.
Closing date for applications is Friday 23rd March.
